Classical Tui Na 1.1 – The Master Key

Classical Tui Na: Essential Protocols and Principles is the single most important class in the entire Zheng Gu Tui Na curriculum.  Literally the “Master Key” to the Classical Tui Na System, it opens the doors to all the other methods we teach.

These principles and protocols form the basis of treatments Tom Bisio and Frank Butler have successfully used in their clinics for over 20 years.

Protocols learned in this class will improve your clinical effectiveness – in all areas.

In Classical Tui Na: Essential Protocols and Principles students learn a full-body Tui Na protocol that is the foundation of all other Tui Na techniques. The full-body approach develops an integrated approach to diagnosis and treatment, which inculcates – from the very beginning – correct clinical procedures, while simultaneously teaching hand techniques, proper body mechanics, and the foundation for a wide variety of treatments.

The “back protocol” which forms the core of this class is a unique method of  regulating the Spine and the Du (or “Governing” Vessel), which connects to the brain and spinal cord, and globally regulates and controls countless body functions.

Many students have studied Tui Na and medical massage before. Hence some write us to inquire about “skipping” what appears to be a “basic” foundational level class. Nothing could be farther from reality! Essential Protocols and Principles is NOT a basic class. It is, once again, the most important class we teach.

For all of these reasons, Classical Tui Na: Essential Protocols and Principles is the nexus and entry point to the various courses of study that we offer.

If you can take only one of our classes, take this one!

Brian Cashman, Meet Dee Dee Trotter: How Acupuncture Can Transform the Yankees’ Game

Check out this fascinating article by Zheng Gu Tui Na practitioner and acupuncturist, Phil Veneziano:

It’s time for all sports teams to have an acupuncturist on staff.

I got really excited when I read that Dee Dee Trotter, 2012 Olympic bronze medal winner in the 400 meter, invited her acupuncturist to join her in London. She was set to compete in the biggest sporting competition in the world, and she wanted him right by her side. Pole-vaulter Jeremy Scott tweets: “Acupuncture has made me a better athlete!” South Korean handball player Park Jung-geu is an acu-fan. And wait, who am I forgetting? Oh yeah, high-jumper Amy Acuff, who is on her 5th visit to the Olympics and practices acupuncture in Austin, Texas!
